Outstanding Educator Awards
The Outstanding
Educator Award Task Force is pleased to announce the 2007
Outstanding Educator.
It is our privilege
to honor this fine educator for his contributions to their
students and the profession. The Outstanding Educator Award is a
distinguished honor and we encourage you to make your
recommendations this fall.
Raymond Wacker,
Charles W. Groennert/Emerson Electric Teaching Excellence Professor
of Accountancy at Southern Illinois University has been awarded
the 2007 Outstanding Educator Award. Professor Wacker has been with
Southern Illinois University for 17 years, where he has received
many university teaching awards. Dr. Wacker has taught 19 different
courses in the past 15 years. Dr. Wacker is a member of the Illinois
CPA Society and has been an advisor for Beta Alpha Psi and SIUC's
Chinese Students and Scholars Association.
Outstanding
Educator Award:
Nominations are
welcomed from any interested person (colleague, student,
administrator, etc.). Your nominee should be an Illinois
educator at a community college, college, or university who has made
continuous and outstanding contributions to the accounting education
of multi-cultural students. Educators who are now predominantly
involved in administration or research are also eligible for the
award. The primary criteria to be considered in making the selection
are the following factors:

Excellence in
reaching out to multi-cultural students and encouraging
diversity, including (but not limited to);

Multi-cultural
students
-
Various income
levels
-
Different age
groups
-
Disabled
students
-
Displaced or
second career students
Award for
Promoting Diversity through Accounting Education:
Nominations are
welcomed from any interested person (colleague, student,
administrator, etc.). Your nominee should be an Illinois
educator at a community college, college, or university who has made
continuous and outstanding contributions to the education of
accounting students. Educators who are noted for their teaching
abilities, but are now predominantly involved in administration or
research are eligible for the award. The nominee does not need to
hold a doctoral degree. The primary criteria to be considered in
making the selection are the following factors:

Excellence in
teaching,
-
Student
motivation and advising,
-
Educational
innovation,
-
Contributions
to the academic community, and
-
Contributions
to the accounting profession
Nominations will be
accepted from September through November. Please check back for
