The Illinois CPA
Society has compiled the following information the following
scholarships and financial aid options available to today's
college/university students.
Available
through the American Institute of CPAs.
AICPA John L.
Carey Scholarship Program
Liberal arts
students wishing to pursue graduate accounting study can receive
financial aid through the AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Program.
Each year, up to seven recipients will be awarded $5,000 and will be
eligible for renewal for one more year, provided satisfactory
scholastic progress is maintained. For more information, email

Scholarships for
Minority Accounting Students
This scholarship
program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority
students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and
their ultimate entry into the profession. These awards are funded by
the AICPA Foundation from monies contributed by the AICPA, its
members, public accounting firms, and others. The program has been in
existence for more than 20 years and has awarded more than $6 million
in scholarships.
Scholarships are
awarded each July for the following academic year. For the 2005-2006
academic year, scholarships totaling $423,000 were awarded to 134
