Illinois CPA
Society Accounting Scholarship
Katherine
Dahlberg
DePaul University
Katherine Dahlberg attends DePaul University and will graduate in
2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Finance. She is
a Ledger and Quill Student Leader Scholar, an honor given for
leadership at DePaul. Katherine was awarded the Bauer Scholarship
for her academic and community excellence, and the AICPA Success
Through Scholarship Award for academic excellence in accounting.
Katherine plans to sit for the CPA Exam in June, 2006.
Andria Moore
Illinois State University
Andria is seeking a Master’s of Science in Accounting at Illinois
State University. She is the President of Beta Gamma Sigma, a select
Business Honor Society recognizing the most outstanding students at
AACSB accredited institutions. Andria has been on the Dean’s List
twice and was a Kemper Scholars Finalist. She also received the
Caterpillar Excellence Fund Scholarship for leadership and
excellence, and the College of Business—Alumni Association
Scholarship for performance inside and outside of the classroom.
Andria plans to sit for the CPA Exam in January, 2007.
Debra Panzarella
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Debra is pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been on the
Dean’s List for three semesters, ranking within the top 20% of her
class, and has received the Leiby S. Hall Scholarship, 2003-2005.
Debra was awarded the James Scholars Distinction, which recognizes
and encourages the talents of academically outstanding,
undergraduate students within each college, and participated in the
Illinois Leadership Certificate Program, which is designed to
provide students with experience and growth in leadership. Debra
plans to sit for the CPA Exam in May, 2006.
Clinton Peters
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
A graduate of Northern Illinois University, with a Bachelor’s in
Accounting Science, Clinton Peters will pursue his Master’s in
Accounting Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in the fall of 2005. He has been on the Dean’s list six times during
his undergraduate education, and received an USOAR Research Grant to
study Australia’s change in Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
from the Australian Accounting Standards to the International
Accounting Standards in 2004. Clinton ranked among the top 10% of
his graduating class at Northern Illinois University’s College of
Business. He plans to sit for the CPA Exam in the fall of 2006.
Marian Sasry
DePaul University
Marian Sasry will graduate from DePaul University with a Bachelor’s
of Science in Commerce. She will graduate in 4 years with enough
credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in November of 2006. Marian has
been on the Dean’s List every semester since 2002, maintaining a 3.3
GPA or higher. She is also a Beta Gamma Sigma Member, an honor given
to the top 5% of the junior class and top 10% of the senior class,
signifying the best in business academic achievement. Marian
received the DePaul Presidential Scholarship, based on merit, every
year since 2002.

Executive Committee’s Advancing Women in Accounting Scholarship
Cathy Bierowiec
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Cathy Bierowiec is pursuing a Master’s of Accounting Science at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a James Newton
Matthews Scholar, an award given to students who have demonstrated
the ability to contribute to the University. Cathy also received the
Arthur Cutts Willard Memorial Scholarship and the Leiby S. Hall
Scholarship, awards based on academic merit. She was inducted into
the Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity and the Business
Council at U of I. Cathy plans to sit for the CPA Exam in May 2005.
Herman J. Neal
Scholarships
Chanell Beasley
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Chanell is seeking a Master’s of Science in Accounting at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received the Ernst &
Young award and the Minority Scholastic award for academic
achievements. Chanell is also a PriceWaterhouseCoopers Minority
Scholarship recipient and worked as an accounting intern at Ernst &
Young. She plans to sit for the CPA Exam in the spring of 2006.
Kimberly Holmes
Dominican University
Kimberly received a Bachelor’s of Marketing Communication from
Columbia College and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in
Accounting at Dominican University. Kimberly was on the Dean’s List
during her undergraduate studies and has been the Chicago Cares,
Volunteer Coordinator for the Greater Chicago Food Depository since
2002. Kimberly plans to sit for the CPA Exam in June, 2006.
Porschia
Thomas-Quinn
DePaul University
Porschia is a senior at DePaul University pursuing a Bachelor’s of
Science and Master’s of Science in Taxation. She has been on the
Dean’s List several times throughout her education and was inducted
into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, the highest recognized
honor society that serves accredited AACSB International business
programs. Porschia is also a member of the National Society of
Collegiate Scholars, an organization that recognizes outstanding
academic achievement and encourages members to develop leadership
skills through community service. Porschia plans to sit for the CPA
Exam in July of 2007.
